The Dazzle PV was ridiculous. So crowded, heaving for all 4 hours. We thought that it was easing at 7pm but 150 more art buffs suddenly arrived – they were to do with Edinburgh Arts Festival. Sales were manic. A team of 13 of us tried our best to cope with the demand to purchase. Queue was generally long. Just so pleased that we have such wonderful helpers. Everyone loved the high quality wine provided by the in-house caterers. Over 900 were officially clicked in but we suspect that there were more. So many old friends and regular customers but we thought that there were many more younger people this year. Lots of Glasgow based Dazzlers. It is reassuring to know that so many want to attend year in and year out. Sales were spread pretty evenly this time. Friday was also busy as usual, with many coming back to view the work in more pleasant conditions.
Great to sell so many sizeable necklaces this time.
Dovecot is always a hive of activity during the Festival with many attracted by Leo’s fabulous catering – the cafe downstairs is a real attraction with delicious home baked cakes and scones and lovely savoury platters. It is a comfortable light and airy hang out. Richard’s legacy is in safe hands.
Mustn’t forget that the Pitenweem Arts Festival is on this weeked – a real treat!
