The Art, Craft and Science of Preaching and Teaching God’s Word #21: To preach, kerusso, is to herald forth, to announce. To teach, euangelizomai, is to teach well, in the sense that you may not teach everything you know, but what you do teach, you teach well. Both preaching and teaching may be found in the same presentation. A good introduction is usually preaching, heralding forth the truth you’re about to make known, and making it maddeningly relevant. The body of your presentation is teaching. And your conclusion is preached. An otherwise wonderful presentation can be weakened for lack of preaching, at the beginning and at the end.
